Destination Docklands, supported by the City of Melbourne and Mirvac, will again bring the free family-friendly outdoor cinema to Point Park, Yarra's Edge from Thursday, 28 January to Saturday, 30 January.
Movies Under the Stars 2016 will give film lovers the chance to watch recent blockbuster hits on a ten metre projection screen while enjoying an evening with friends and family on the lawn at Point Park.
With the site opening at 6:30pm each night before the feature film starts at dusk, guests are encouraged to make the most out of the stunning location.
Movies Under the Stars 2016 at Point Park Yarra's Edge program:
- Thursday, 28 January - The Imitation Game (M)
- Friday, 29 January - Spectre (M)
- Saturday, 30 January - Inside Out (PG)
The first 100 guests to each session will be offered a complimentary beanbag to kick back and relax on for the duration of the movie. For those arriving later, remaining beanbags can be hired for $8 each. Property developer, Mirvac, will also be supplying blankets for guests to use throughout the evening.
Gold coin donations will be collected across the series for Kids Under Cover; an organisation that works to prevent youth homelessness by building homes and providing scholarships and mentors for at risk young people.
Various public transport options from the CBD and surrounds also make getting to Point Park as stress free and easy as possible.
The free ferry service will leave from beneath Federation Square at Federation Wharf and travel directly to Point Park, Yarra's Edge.
The good folk at Marina YE have a number over overnight berths available for those that wish to stay aboard their boat following the movies, so why not make an entire weekend of it?
